Razer Viper vs Lancehead: Differences & Similarities
DPI
The sensitivity of the mouse matters a lot when you’re looking for a new mouse and these two mice will definitely provide you a lot of room for your DPI settings.
Both, Razer Viper and Razer Lancehead feature up to 16,000DPI along with 450+ Inches Per Second (IPS).
These mice are surely quite fast and most of the gamers like to keep things between 2000DPI to 8000DPI but it never hurts to have some spare DPI.
Optical Sensors
Razer Viper and Razer Lancehead are relatively new and they are equipped with 5G optical sensors and they are capable of handling competitive gaming.
Razer Viper is equipped with an advanced 5G optical sensor that is responsible for a smooth and deadly fast experience.
Razer Lancehead comes with an esports-grade 5G optical sensor which is also quite fast and accurate. Both these mice are equipped with the latest optical sensors and both of them are approx 99.6% accurate.
Price
The price difference between Razer Viper and Razer Lancehead is not that much but because Viper is the newer version, it’s slightly expensive than Razer Lancehead.
Both of these mice are excellent choices if you’re looking for a good gaming mouse. However, you will need to install a lot of drivers to customize your mouse and it’s quite annoying.
Moving on, Razer Viper and Lancehead are both available on Amazon if you want to check the current price.
Design
Razer is still keeping things simple and using the same classic mouse shapes. Razer Viper is a good looking mouse with a matt-black metallic body, perfectly placed side grips and a Razer logo with RGB lights at the bottom of the shell.
On the other hand, Razer Lancehead looks very much like Razer DeathAdder Elite at the first glance but the RGB lights on the left sides are definitely a good touch.
The usual side grips and Razer logo is also there at the bottom of the mouse. Razer Lancehead is very suitable for people with small hands but I wouldn’t say the same thing for Razer Viper.
Another perk of Razer Lancehead is that it is available in three different colors (Black, Gunmetal Grey, and Mercury White).
Furthermore, Razer Viper offers 8 customizable buttons while Razer Lancehead offers 9 customizable buttons that can be customized using Razer Synapse.
However, maintaining the software for these mice is a disaster and it’s another reason why many gamers are mad at Razer.
Weight
Weight matters a lot and it’s essential to keep in mind what type of mouse you want to play games at your desired settings when looking for a new mouse.
Razer Viper is somewhere around 12.7cm (4.9’’) long, 6.6cm (2.6’’) at the widest and nearly 3.7cm (1.4’’) deep.
Weighing at almost 70g (2.4oz), Razer Viper is one of the lightest mouse available in the market that you can get your hands on. Razer Viper is without any doubt, the best option if you’re looking for a light-headed mouse.
Razer Lancehead is nearly 11.7cm (4.6’’) long, 7.1cm (2.7’’) wide and somewhere around 3.8cm (1.4) deep. The Razer Lanceheads weighs around 105g (3.7oz) and it is found in the category of mid-range gaming mice.
If you’re used to playing with a heavy hand then Lancehead is a good choice.
RGB Lights
There aren’t many Razer devices out there that are without RGB lights. Razer Viper also features RGB lights but there’s not much room for them.
The RGB lights are only visible inside the Razer logo at the bottom of the mouse which means that there are no RGB lights inside the scroll button.
On the contrary, Razer Lancehead is equipped with all kinds of RGB lights with many of the LEDs visible on the top, bottom and side of the mouse. If you’re into RGB lights then Lancehead has a lot to offer.
Razer Lancehead vs Razer Viper Ultimate
Razer Lancehead (Tournament Edition) is quite outdated when it’s compared with Razer Viper Ultimate but the wireless version of Razer Lancehead surely stands a chance against Viper Ultimate.
If you’re looking for wireless versions of these mice then you can always go for Razer Viper Ultimate and Razer Lancehead (Wireless).
Razer Viper Review
Razer Viper is an excellent choice for a long-term gaming mouse that will also be very useful when you’re using it for browsing or anything else.
Viper’s weight is its biggest perk here and for regular use, Razer Viper would be my first choice.
When it comes to gaming, it’s precise and accurate as well with a lot of room for DPI and its a low-profile mouse which is also a plus for me.
If you’re looking for a new mouse that looks professional and also has some good specs then Viper is definitely the go-to option.
Razer Lancehead Review
The Razer Lancehead incredible looks made me fall in love with this mouse.
I am very much into RGB lights and Lancehead has to offer a lot of them and I would happily pay the top dollar to get my hands on anything like this.
Razer Lancehead is a decent mouse but its reputation is quite bad because of all the software you have to install to customize anything on this mouse.
In conclusion, Razer Lancehead is not a flawless mouse but it will definitely make the cut.
Conclusion
Razer Viper Vs Lancehead: Who’s the Winner?
After reviewing and comparing the differences we can see that both of these mice have their own pros and cons.
Viper has optical mouse switches while Lancehead has mechanical mouse switches. Viper has almost no RGB lights while Lancehead has a lot of them to offer.
In conclusion, both of these mice are quite excellent but if you’re looking for the latest technology and better performance then Razer Viper is the most suitable for you but if you want those glowing lights then Lancehead Tournament Edition is the better choice.
